When it comes to gambling no matter where you do it poker is the number one game, played by more gamblers then any other game in the world.

The term poker is used to reference a large number of card games, where the object is to make the best hand you can with the number of cards given. In some versions you may have 2, 3 or 5 cards to play with.

Texas Holdem is currently the hottest poker variation on the planet. Texas Holdem is played with each player receiving 2 cards. These are the only cards that you have to differentiate your hand from all the other players cards. The rest of the cards come from a communal pile of cards that everyone gets to use.

3 card pokers is usually only found in casinos and online casino poker rooms. This is not a game that will be played sitting at home with some friends on a Friday night. In this game each player, as the name suggest only gets 3 cards to make the best hand they can. In this game you can beat the dealer if the dealer fails to qualify by at least having a queen or higher in their hand.

Red Dog Poker is my all time favorite poker game, even though technically it is not related in anyway I can see to all of the other poker games. Red dog poker is played by the player placing a bet of any size up to the table limit and then being dealt 2 cards. The player is then dealt a 3rd card and wins if the 3rd card numerically falls between the other 2 cards dealt. So if you are dealt a 5 and a 9 if the 3rd card is a 6, 7 or an 8 the player wins. The closer the first two cards are determines the pay out rate. The closer the first 3 cards are to each other the higher the payout will be.
