The Rules of Baccarat

Baccarat is played by 2 players the 1st is the banker the other is just the player. The banker takes the place of the dealer. The banker is designated by the amount of money both players have on the table. The player with the most money becomes the banker.

The game of baccarat is quite simple to play. The object of baccarat is to make a hand totaling as close to 9 as possible. This is done by adding up our cards. All cards higher then the 9 are valued at 0, this includes the ace. In Baccarat if you have a hand that adds up to a 2 digit number the 1st number is always dropped, so a hand of 13 would be a 3.

The banker deals the player and himself 2 cards, and then both players can take 1 more card if they think it will improve their hands.

In baccarat if on the draw either the player of the banker get a hand of 8 or 9 this is called a natural and that player wins without the other player getting a chance to tie.

All the betting in baccarat is done by the spectators. They have 3 bets they can make. They can bet on the player or the banker to win. The 3rd bet is for the player and the banker to tie, this bet pays off at 9 to 1 as apposed to the 1 to 1 the other bets pay, but a tie is extremely rare.

If you win on a bet for the banker to win the house will take a 5% rake from your winnings. This is because the banker has the house edge.

Although the banker does the job of the dealer in the game a dealer is needed to monitor the betting.
